This time last week I was sending my vacation-themed Weekend Stuff from a sunny beach in Mexico. This time, it’s from our little third floor apartment in somehow-still-cold New York City.
Not quite as exotic, but there’s something so sweet about all the comforts of home after a week away. The morning light fills the room a little more softly, the hardwood floors crack their bones a little more gently, the bricks lining our walls tell their age a little more gracefully.
Or maybe I’m just feeling a little more grateful this morning. Either way, I’ll take it.
With Mother’s Day just around the corner, this week’s edition of Weekend Stuff is all about the mamas in our lives – be it the ones that raised us, the ones we know as friends, or the ones we’re becoming. I think there’s a little something for everyone in here.
May your weekend be filled with the good stuff.
“This is a book for working women and mothers who are ready to release the culturally inherited belief that their worth is equal to their productivity, and instead create a personal and professional life that’s based on presence, meaning, and joy.”
“Jo believes there’s no better way to celebrate family and friendship than through the art of togetherness, celebrating tradition, and sharing a great meal. The Magnolia Table includes 125 classic recipes— from breakfast, lunch, and dinner to small plates, snacks, and desserts— presenting a modern selection of American classics and personal family favorites that stem from Joanna’s Korean and Lebanese heritage.”
I’m relatively new to the Sugarfina game but it is quickly becoming a go-to for fun little any-occasion presents. This “Cheers” box is the perfect add-on or stand-alone gift to celebrate the mama in your life.
If you’ve been around for any length of time you won’t be surprised to see a Catbird spotlight on this gift guide. I love this ethical, chic little Brooklyn boutique and this tiny pearl bracelet is a super easy (and affordable) gift option.
How sweet is this recipe box from Rifle Paper Co? And how much sweeter if you could hand write some of your mama’s favorite recipes to tuck inside? Could be the start of a cherished family heirloom.
Have a new mom in your life? This gift set contains trusted, safe, toxic-free products for mom and baby. Includes a daily protective balm, all over tear-free wash, and soothing oil for cradle cap, dry skin, and a host of other needs. Comes ready to wrap!
This leave-on overnight peel minimizes pores, fine lines, and dark spots without irritating the skin. It’s a personal favorite, a BeautyCounter best seller, and a happy, healthy gift for the clean beauty lover in your life.
This Proverbs 31 print is such a pretty way to encourage a God-fearing mama. It comes unframed, but wouldn’t take much to make this her new favorite wall decor.
When all else fails? Spa. If you’re out of time or just out of ideas, try a Spa Finder gift card because every mom needs a little break every now and then.
